Don't forget, we'll have a movie night this Thursday immediately after school (2:30-4:30pm) to support our Relay for Life campaign. Your student must complete the movie night form and return with $3 by Thursday, March 16th at 12:00pm. If you have any outstanding debts, please pay those off this week.

Burke County Public Schools is preparing for our first “Shamrock Shuffle 5K and Color Me Green 1-Mile Fun Run” , . This 5k and fun run is a fundraiser with proceeds going to the Burke Education Foundation Inc.
The 5k will be a timed event and the 1-mile fun run will be a color event. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, fun run participants are encouraged to dress up in their favorite leprechaun getup and should come prepared to be turned green.

A registration form for runners also is attached or you can register online here. There's a spot on the form to list school affiliation. The school with the most representatives at the event will receive $500.

Please join us tomorrow, Friday February 27th for our 2nd nine weeks Soaring Eagles Program. The Pre-K thru 2nd grade program will begin at 8:45 am and the 3rd thru 5th grade program will begin at 10:30 am. Both programs will be held in the theater! We hope to see you then!
Class pictures will be taken on Friday, February 10th. You will have the opportunity to purchase your child(s) class picture! Please look for information coming home with your student regarding purchasing a class picture!
We are currently collecting cans for the "Souperintendent's Souper Bowl" canned food drive. The canned food drive will last until Monday, February 6th. Our school goal is to collect 501 cans of food to donate! If you are able, please send in a few cans of food for this great cause!
GHES Yearbooks will be on sale from February 1st thru March 31st. The cost will be $20.00. Order forms will be sent home soon with students. This year, parents are able to also purchase a yearbook online. If you would like to purchase a yearbook online, please visit www.strawbridge.net and enter our school code 105353. You can also return the paper order form and money to your child's teacher. If you have any questions about yearbook sales, please contact Mrs. Springall!
GHES Science Fair projects are due on Friday, December 16th. Please turn your completed project into Mrs. Carswell(1st grade) or Mr. Lowman(4th grade).
Science Fair projects will be on display in the media center for judging!
